Stained Glass
The idea for the Stained Glass project began when Tack Chumbley approached us in 2003, but it took a while to find just the right combination of voices. Debbie and Karen's musical ability and experience made for an amazing addition to this onevoice project. All 10 songs were recorded in just 2 days during Christmas Break 2005.
Long before the advent of
Southern Gospel and contemporary Christian music,
churches rang with majestic hymns written during the
18th and 19th centuries. In their Stained Glass CD,
onevoice presents these great songs of faith in a way
that is sure to inspire all who hear them. Also included
are prayers of Samuel Johnson, the inimitable 18th
century lexicographer and believer, as read by Kenny
(Tack) Chumbley.

I've been listening to your One Voice CD for a couple weeks now and it's just absolutely beautiful. I was starting to clean house when I put it in the CD player and it gave me such chills that I had to just stop and listen. I found myself sitting down and singing along instead of cleaning. It took me right back to my childhood being in church with my mother and singing the same hymns while my father sang in the choir. I have always loved the Doxology. As a child, I remember singing it in the car on the way home from church-over and over. But hearing you all--I never thought it could sound so beautiful. This may sound odd, but this CD has put me in more of a Christmas mood than any of the Christmas songs that are playing constantly on the radio.
I have since passed it around the office and everyone has experienced similar reactions to mine--thanking me profusely for letting them listen. Thanks to the four of you for putting this together and sharing it with us. You all sound wonderful together!"!

I found out about this CD from Debbie Connelly and Karen Breidert at a Sweet Adeline Regional Weekend, where they were the faculty with "The Buzz" quartet. Once I got it home and in my car, I played it over and over about 25 times. It is so uplifting and inspiring with the words and the absolutely beautiful harmony. I look forward to receiving the Praise & Worship Cd and the Hope CD, which I have just ordered. I know that I will not be disappointed. Your work in praising God is far-reaching! Thank you.
